Avoir faim: To be hungry, literally to ‘have hunger’.

ex: J’ai faim. I am hungry.

Avoir soif: to be thirsty, literally ‘to have thirst’.

ex: J’ai soif, I am thirsty.

Avoir chaud: To be hot, literally ‘to have heat’
